I like books.
I am a librarian and aspiring digital humanist, a voracious reader, a knitter, cat lover, a feminist, and supporter of the Oxford comma. I am the Humanities Librarian at Bates College. I am proud to be the collection manager and digital project consultant for the Diverse BookFinder, a database focused on picture books featuring people of color. We seek to diversify and balance bookshelves by researching who is depicted in picture books and how they are represented. You can see all my professional works here: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8544-4342.
I completed an MLIS at the Palmer School of Library and Information Science at Long Island University, and an MA at the Draper Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Humanities and Social Thought at New York University. My research interests focus on book history, information access, digital pedagogy, gender, and digital humanities. Program coursework included digital libraries, collection development, academic reference and instruction, and a mentorship at NYU’s Bobst Library.
My other professional experience is in the legal field, most recently in human rights.
